Helping Kids Learn, Play, and Thrive with Occupational Therapy!

Who Am I?

Paediatric Occupational Therapy

Hi, I’m Sarah – a playful, caring Occupational Therapist and founder of Play & Thrive Occupational Therapy, based in Melbourne’s South-East. I offer mobile and clinic-based paediatric OT services, using a neurodiversity-affirming, strength-based, and individualised approach.

I’m passionate about creating fun, meaningful experiences that help children grow, build confidence, and thrive in their everyday lives. I believe every child is unique, and I love working closely with families to support their goals and celebrate each child’s strengths.

Outside of work, you’ll find me spending time with my husband, family and friends, exploring new foods, tackling escape rooms or board games, and adventuring with my dog Charlie!

  • Executive Functioning

Services

  • Assessments

I evaluate a child's function in a range of areas such as Sensory, Behaviour, Activities of Daily Living, Play, Fine Motor, Gross Motor and Social Skills. This helps with understanding the child's strengths and areas of difficulties as well as support funding applications where necessary.

  • Occupational Therapy

I provide 1:1 therapy for your child in their home, school, community space or clinic space. This therapy is individualised and guided by family focused, child led goals.

  • Parent/Educator Coaching

Parent and/or educator coaching sessions help empower and enable key people in the child's life to understand the child more and be across the child's therapy goals. This supports transfer of skills across many environments as well as ensuring everyone is working towards a common goal.

Fees &

Inclusions

  • Our first session is a comprehensive assessment designed to understand your child’s unique strengths, challenges, and goals. This session may take up to 90 minutes and includes a detailed discussion about your child’s needs and areas for support. This initial consultation is priced at $290.99.

Ongoing sessions are priced at $193.99 per hour. All sessions incur a 15 minute administration/travel fee, which covers the therapist’s preparation time and travel. Individual travel costs may vary and are calculated per client. All fees will be discussed with clients before beginning therapy.

For a more cost-effective option, I also offer therapy sessions in a clinic space at Orana Community Place, Clyde North, where travel fees do not apply.

Assessments are $193.99 an hour for both face to face assessment and report writing time. Assessments will vary in the amount of time needed dependent on the type of assessment required and the child’s needs. On average this will vary from 4 hours to 7 hours for a comprehensive assessment (this includes the face to face assessment, comprehensive report and follow up meeting). It may also require observations of your child in the environment of concern (e.g., kindergarten, school).

Please discuss with your therapist which assessment (if any) would be most suitable for your child and a more accurate quote can be provided.

  • Please contact me if you feel your child requires therapy and you are not in a position to pay for it. I am happy to discuss different funding options, support you in gaining funding or identifying your suitability for financial support.

Let’s work together.

I would love to help! Please fill out some more information and I will be in touch with you shortly.
